ADDRESS : Big Lee Family Kitchen
PHONE : xxx-xxx-xxxx
Big Lee's hosted a Christmas Eve Pot Luck for Buddha Boy's sister Momo and Vin (another out-of-town visitor)...so, with approximately thirty adults and children, the pot luck was a food fest! I tried snapping as many photo as possible, however, I stopped because I was quite ticked off by some childish comments.
Anyhow, one family brought some baked goods...the kids made a Mr. & Mrs. Big Lee.
Seto-san brought some crackers and breads for his cheese platter.
I made some Mini Vietnamese Salad Rolls (迷你越南沙拉卷)...bite-sized rolls!!! I would have made some more but these were quite time consuming...for me...hehehehe!
HBoy brought some Apple Tarts from New Town Bakery in Chinatown...he was going to buy three dozens...OMG!!! Two dozens were way too much already.
Mrs. Big Lee made some Soy Sauce Chicken Wings (豉油雞翼)...these were juicy and flavorful, yet not salty. Good job Mrs. Big Lee.
Our friend (well, more like Momo, Seto-san, Big Lee, and HBoy's friend...we just know the guy), who's a chef at Sheraton, made some Lamb Popsicles with Goat Cheese...I think. Anyhow, I got pissed off after this so I did not snap any other food such as Buddha Boy's famous Mac n' Cheese with Truffles...maybe next time!
Wine selections for the night...also a Dr. Loosen Riesling in the fridge.
We're not sure what's wrong with Buddha Dog...maybe because there were too many "strangers"...he was not eating, not drinking (water, of course), and not really "socializing". For most part of the night, Buddha Dog kept to himself and sat alone in the corner...until most of the "strangers" left...then he was hyper...LOL!!!

I can't get over how much Buddha dog looks like my shih tzu. Need to send you a picture to compare.
ReplyDeleteBuddhadog really looked so sad. I saw his other pics in your facebook and he appeared so lonely by himself in a corner. I'm glad to know that he was back to his perky self later on.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I wonder what was the bad remark you got from taking food pictures. Hmmm..
@Derek:
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Send us a pic a pic of your shi-tzu!!! Is your shi-tzu boy or girl?
@Crispy:
ReplyDeleteYea...he was so sad...we thought maybe he doesn't like Christmas??? Or he doesn't celebrate it? Hence the name "Buddha Dog"??? LOL! But he was ok later. Well, as for the "childish comment"...let's just say some people need to understand that a blog is a web log that provides opinionated commentaries of a subject...simply speaking, it's an online diary of one's interests or hobbies...so people should read it as a series of articles written by one or a group who wants to share the experiences. I was told not to take pictures of the food because all the pictures of food should be "picture perfect"...so childish.
Boy, and is he big, will remember to send a photo!
ReplyDeleteI love Dr. Loosen Riesling! Hehehe so sweet <3
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, poor Buddha Dog :-(
ReplyDeleteYou should let me know about your leftover apple tarts from New Town .... they rock !!
Mini salad rolls, cool.
Why did you get pissed off after the lamb popsicles ?
aww i am sorry about that comment! those uptight ppl! do they know a blog is equivalent of a personal diary!? and with personal diary, you can do whatever you want! you should snap their pictures and make a mean comment like "never will be picture prefect" ;p hahaha i guess that's too childish...but i hope that cheer you up! :)
ReplyDeletepoor buddadog...my dog loves ppl over and beg all these ppl for food! my shih tzu is too manipulative sometimes
@Derek:
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I have seen some big chubby shi-tzu's...like my friend's...hahaha...quite cute!!!
@Elaine:
Me too! My friend introduced me to it few years ago and I fell in love with it. The only white wine I enjoy...because it's sweet!!! LOL!!!
@LR:
Oh yea...that's right, I recall seeing your comment somewhere about your love and passion for the apple tarts from New Town!!! LOL!!! The mini-salad rolls were quite nice, but a pain to make it because the "wraps" were not as friendly as the big ones!!!
@Queenie:
Thanks for cheering me up!!! :D
My previous shi-tzu loved crowds and loved going out! But this one...is a "house dog"...hahaha...he likes to stay home! A 宅狗 (or 宅男 since he's a boy)...hahahaha!
