West Georgia Street & Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC

We don't really keep up-to-date with the local street carts, it's usually whatever I come across on my lunch walks. When I spotted La Brasserie Street on the corner of West Georgia and Burrard, I thought they moved from their old location, but I soon realized that it was a new cart with a new product.
The Brass Rocket Sandwich was simply chorizo sausage in a bun. Just like a burger at McD's, the picture looked better than the actual product. The price point here was similar to their chicken sandwich at the other location. I give them props for being conscious of pricing and they do a good job at it.
The sandwich was quite simple. The chorizo sausage was sliced and pan fried, topped with tomato sauce, roasted red pepper and a handful of greens. Olive oil, salt and pepper were added at the end for a finish.

Overall, I did enjoy the sandwich, but I did not like it. It's purely personal preference. I'm not a fan of tomato sauce and red peppers in my sandwiches, too soft and mushy. The sandwich lacked contrasting textures. The meat was nicely fried/grilled with a firm meaty texture, but I thought it lacked smokiness. The sandwich was not spicy, there was a bottle of chili oil to add that extra kick.
For me, this sandwich is ranked after their chicken sandwich and Re-Up's pulled pork sandwich...perhaps even after Bun Me. Would I eat this again? Yes, if other choices are not available.
