Joining the new fray of street vendors was a new BBQ cart located just in front of the Art Gallery (almost spitting distance to Re-Up). Pretty simple offerings, either beef or chicken in a wrap for $7, I opted for a Chicken Shishlik, which was served on Taftoon (a traditional Iranian flat bread).

I was quite disappointed by how little meat there was considering it's a "BBQ" cart, but the flavors were really good. I'd recommend this for the flavor and texture, but if you're looking for a meaty lunch like I am, then you'll need more food after.
One thing I noticed right away was there REALLY wasn't much chicken. As I continued eating, that limited amount of chicken was lost in the massive overload of veggies. The Iranian flat bread wrap boasts a long list of ingredients: hummus, tahini, purple cabbage, beets, pickled turnips, pickles, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice Moroccan carrots, radish and tabbouleh. On top of that, for sauces, you can choose baharat (spiced BBQ sauce), amba (spicy & savory mango) and zhug (Middle-Eastern hot sauce). Unfortunately, I was never asked about the sauce, so I really don't know what was in my wrap. I don't think it was amba since I couldn't detect any mango.
So, how was the taste? It was actually really good. There was so much texture and flavors from all the different vegetables, I had hits of sweet, then savory, then crisp and crunchy. All the flavors worked really well, nothing was overpowering. This reminded me of all the ingredients I could get at Donair Dudes, but this had a lot less chicken and was a lot smaller in size. I'd love to have this again, but only when I'm not looking for something meaty.
