2012-07-29 Bacon Sundae @ Burger King

Burger King on Urbanspoon
Someone mentioned bacon and my ears perked up...yup, just like when Buddha Dog hears the crinkle of a bag or the clang of dishes...B-A-C-O-N is my kryptonite.
I know, I know, BK's quality has really sucked over the last decade.  The fish burgers shrunk, the chicken patties has more filler than meat, and the beef burger patties aren't the same anymore.  But, that being said, I just had to visit a Burger King to try the Bacon Sundae.
For a non-dessert person, I truly enjoyed this.  Surprisingly, the sundae used crumbled bacon instead of those ugly bacon bits...yes, it's real crumbled bacon.  Along with caramel and chocolate, the "finishing touch" was a full strip of bacon.  The saltiness of bacon blended really well with the sweetness of syrup and ice cream.  The bacon was crisp, so it really contributed to the contrast in texture.  If I had some on-hand, I would probably sprinkle some bacon salt on top, other than that, this BK sundae was pretty good and I would definitely have this again.

2011-06-29 Munchies @ Costco

Costco (Marysville WA) on Urbanspoon
Our food trek wasn't over.  Less than an hour after DTF, we stopped off at Costco for supplies and, of course, more food.
Marv & I shared a Carne Asada.  Filled mainly with beef, cheese, tomatoes and onions, I thought this was going to be quite doughy, but it wasn't.  With chunky pieces of meat and a light dough, this tasted pretty good.  I'd eat this again.
The ladies had Frozen Yogurt...I guess I haven't had ice cream in a while because I thought this was pretty good.
And what goes well with Costco frozen yogurt?  A Churro, of course.  It was on a whim, but it works, try it!  The churro wasn't too sweet either, it's dusted with a touch of sugar and cinnamon.
Well, our eats on the south side of the border pretty much ended here.  I still got a long list of places to visit, but I'll have to wait until next time.

2011-03-27 Snack @ Carl's Jr.

Carl's Jr on Urbanspoon
So, after shopping, Buddha Boy needed some snacks...hahaha!  Yup, that's only after couple hours of shopping!  What can I say?  He's a big boy!!!  For the longest time, Buddha Boy has been raving about this low-carb burger at Carl's Jr...and prior to us leaving the house, he already mentioned that he wanted one...hahahaha!
I've never been to Carl's Jr. before...it's like a fast-food diner...even the interior looked like a diner.  We were given a number after we placed and paid for our order at the front counter.  The food was then delivered to us.
Here's the famous "Low Carb It.® - The Low Carb Six Dollar Burger®"...so...instead of the bun, they used lettuce...interesting...hahahahaha!  No, this was not $6, this was only around $4US...and it's only 9g of carbs!!!
I ordered a Guacamole Turkey Burger...a charbroiled turkey patty with freshly-prepared guacamole, pepper jack cheese, tomato and lettuce on a honey wheat bun.  The turkey patty was a bit dry, but the guacamole helped.  I would definitely order this again since I like the whole combination...honey bun and guacamole...maybe I will try it with chicken next time!
With his combo meal, Buddha Boy asked for "CrissCut® Fries"...or simply, waffle fries!  I thought this was a bit big to eat as "fries"...but Buddha Boy loves waffle fries because each piece has more crispy parts (surfaces)...hahaha!

2011-03-27 Lunch @ Wonderful Buffet 旺德福

Wonderful Buffet on Urbanspoon
While the border line-up was an hour to an hour and a half wait, we crossed the border in less than two minutes!  Yes...I am showing off!  Hahahahaha!  But honestly, NEXUS has made our traveling so much easier, either by air or land...gotta love NEXUS!!!
Not knowing what to eat, we almost ended up at Eagles Buffet at Tulalip Casino...yuck.  While at Costco in Marysville, Buddha Boy recall that there's a Chinese buffet around the corner...hey why not?  Anything would be better than the buffet at Tulalip...even fast-food.
As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we noticed the Mongolian grill.  The grill selections were better than Eagles Buffet...and it's much cheaper too!  Overall, we enjoyed it.  Both Buddha Boy and I thought this experience was, and would be, much better than Eagles Buffet.
For $10.99US per person, we couldn't really complain about the selections or the quality.  Mind you, the selections here were not bad for the price.  Good sushi selections, good fruits/dessert choices (sliced and cut nicely)...they even have crab legs, raw oysters, and cocktail shrimps.  But honestly, I wouldn't trust the raw oysters there...hahahaha!  As for the Chinese dishes, I was quite pleased to see only one type of noodles and one type of fried rice...at least they're not trying to fill us with carbs, carbs, carbs...oh did I mention carbs?
The restaurant was clean and tidy, food was refilled quickly, service was prompt, attentive, and courteous...all very rare for a Chinese-owned restaurant, not to mention it's a buffet...LOL!!!
