Elaine from O My Sweet Tooth has ordered a smoked duck through me...but due to our schedule conflicts, we didn't see each other until a week later.  Prior to our meet, we have text each other back and forth just trying to figure where to eat...hahaha...so "women" huh?  Thank goodness that texts were free!  LOL!!!  Anyhow, we met up at Paul's Kitchen, located below Superstore in Richmond on No.3 Road.  The place's quite small with only three booths of 4's and five tables of 2's.  Be careful of what you wear to this place...yups...it's one of those places where your clothes will catch the smells...LOL!!!

 

Elaine ordered the Curry Beef Brisket (咖哩牛腩飯)...it came with white rice on the side...from what I saw...it had lots of onions and green peppers...hahahaha...not sure about you Elaine but I don't like either of them...LOL!!!  Later on, according to Elaine...this was just so-so.

I went with the Egg Plant with Pork (魚香茄子飯).  Unlike Elaine's, it came right on top of the white rice.  This was not bad, but not too great neither...actually, it's quite salty.  Btw, it's the first time that I had such dish with preserved veggie (榨菜) in it...weird...LOL!!!

Both of our meals were $6.25 each (before tax)...and each came with a drink...quite a deal.

We were "gently" and "kindly" booted from our seats at Paul's Kitchen because they started to get busy.  So, Elaine suggested that we hit Tapioca Express to sit and chat and relax...good idea girl!!!

Since both of us just finished lunch, we only ordered a drink each.  I had the Hot Almond Milk Tea while Elaine had the...um....um...shoot...I don't remember!!!  Help Elaine!!!  What exactly did you order???

To make long story short, DK & Meo had a friend, Chelsea, visiting from Taiwan.  To thank her for bring us some pineapple pastries (鳳梨酥) from my favorite bakery (卡但屋) in Taiwan, we thought we should treat them to a nice dinner.  You see, in Taiwan, it's hard to find a good restaurant that serves decent Cantonese food, so, we took them to...hehehe...TG!

Since it's quite chilly...I wanted to order soup.  I didn't quite care about what soup, so I left the decision to Buddha Boy.  After he narrowed down his choices, he thought he would give the Shredded Chicken Shark Fin (雞絲魚翅) another try (we tried it a few weeks ago and it wasn't too satisfying)...and this time...it just confirmed our previous experience.  The soup had lots of shredded chicken but very minimal shark fin...haha.. what you expect?  It's only $4.99 per person...hahaha!

Nice lunch box huh?  At the end of the night, I neatly packed the leftovers into one of those clear lid plastic containers and made a lunch for DK...hehehe...a luxurious lunch for tomorrow...LOL!

Ok...we were extremely bad hosts cuz DK was not full from TG!!!  He said he's full but not packed...but I think he's just trying to be nice...grrr...so I suggested that we go for BBT after.  And only two people (outta the five) ordered a drink each...the rest of us were too full to even think about food...LOL!!!

The soup selections were quite interesting...lots of very "Taiwan" flavors...anyhow, DK had the Passion Fruit Green Tea (百香綠茶), while Buddha Boy had the Jasmine Green Tea (茉香綠茶).

I thought I would take a picture of the current promotion so I can share it with everyone (click on picture for larger view).  The sign said the Fraser location is "now open" but we're sure we have been there a while back...before summer...however, we did not take any pictures...sorry.
