Footo Delights was having a contest for new flavors and our submission to this was...bacon, of course.
Buddha Girl coordinated with Brenda (owner & operator of Footo Delights) to pick up our winnings.  The Maple Bacon Croissants (not sure the exact menu name) weren't bad at all.  The croissants had a sweet custard-like filling, a piece of bacon on each end of the horn with minced bacon sprinkled on top of a sweet glaze.
I liked how everything was incorporated, but being me, I'd actually like more bacon flavor.  My suggestion would be adding more depth by incorporating bacon salt either into the filling or sprinkled on top of the glaze.
On top of our prize pack, I asked Buddha Girl to picked up nine more croissants to make it a dozen.  We give props to Brenda for being very receptive to constructive criticisms and new ideas.  If you are in the area and looking for a snack, give it a try.

We recently received an invitation from the chef/owner of this bakery.  Knowing us, we kindly declined the offer but assured her that we will pay the bakery a visit.  Because of her email, we were able to spot a coupon deal from Wheedle.  The bakery chef/owner, Brenda, graduated from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, specializing in Baking & Pastry Arts.  Footo simply means "fresh out of the oven"...cute huh?
No, we didn't introduce ourselves...but I guess it's not hard to spot a fat Chinese couple who takes pictures of food.  However, for this visit, I didn't take any pictures while we were on site...simply because the camera was too heavy and I was too lazy!!!  We placed our order prior to visiting TaiwanFest.  The croissants were made fresh.  All pictures were taken after we picked up the croissants (after TaiwanFest) and walked back to our car.
On top of the dozen, Buddha Boy picked up a Turkey Pesto Croissant to munch on.  The sandwich was good for the price, nothing special, just a simple yet tasty snack sandwich.  The turkey and pesto had the tasted of Costco, which was not a bad thing.
With so many selections, we simply asked Brenda to decide on the dozen for us...with the exception of chocolate, I'm just simply not a chocolate person.  Brenda separated the dozen into two boxes, a sweet box and a savory box.  The sweet box had three Pistachio Croissants and three Almond Croissants.  The pistachio filling was a bit lost in the glazed coating (on the outside of the croissant).  The almond filling had a light hint of almond fragrance, but lacked the almond taste.  Buddha Boy thought the almond one reminded him of those Chinese coconut buns 雞尾包...hahahaha!
The savory box had four Spinach & Cheese Croissants and two Cheese Croissants.  The spinach & cheese ones were tasty but were not very ample with filling.  Buddha Boy had a couple of these cold so it's not really fair for him to judge.  All the croissants were extremely flaky and crispy on the outside.  On the inside, the croissants were soft with a nice texture.  Compared to the old PanDa Fresh Bakery, Footo's croissants were a bit more dense.  While we did enjoy Footo, overall, Buddha Boy and I still prefer the ones sourced by PanDa Boys.
