Bubble World (Richmond) on Urbanspoon
After my usual Wednesday morning Chinese herbal doctor, I drove into Richmond to pick up the refilled cartridges.  I then met up with Daisy at her shop for lunch at Bubble World...she loves this place.  Hahahaha!
I ordered the Pork Thick Soup with Noodle 台式肉羹麵, simply, pork nuggets in soup.  The soup was thick, almost a bit too thick, but acceptable.  The soup ingredients were julienne cuts vegetables, which was the proper way of preparing and presenting the dish.  Flavor was quite similar to the one in Taiwan except lacking a little black vinegar.  Now, the meat...horrendous!  I'm not sure if they were too cheap to coat the meat with fish paste or they're just simply lazy...the meat was a major fail.
Hehehe!  I got Daisy addicted to this Pan Fried Egg Roll with Corn 玉米蛋餅...it's a must order every time she visits!  The corn really added crunch and sweetness to the pancake roll.  A Taiwanese thick soy was served on the side to dip.
The Fried Rice Noodle with Meat Sauce 台式炒米粉 was just so so.  The vermicelli was too wet and the flavors did not all blend together.
Daisy ordered a Salty Pepper Chicken Knee 鹽酥雞膝, something that was marked as "new" on the menu.  These were basically like the ones you'll get at Cantonese-style noodle houses, except these were seasoned like Taiwanese salty crispy chicken.
I ordered a House Special Sandwich 總匯三明治 to-go for Buddha Boy.  Sorry hunny...it's nothing like the ones at the breakfast stalls in Taiwan...but it's still overall pretty yummy!!!  Hahahahaha!

**UPDATED: 2011-03-04**
I have remove the part where I explained the differences between Bubble Tea, Pearl Tea, and Boba Tea.  The section is now under the "411 @ Chez Buddha" category and can be found in the drop down menu on the right.
I really needed a haircut...a true CUT...like from long to short.  So, under Daisy's supervision (to make sure that I do it, since I'm always lazy to sit still for a couple of hours in that uncomfortable salon chair), I visited the salon beside Daisy's store.  But of course, prior to that, I needed food!  So Daisy and I walked over the Bubble World for lunch.
Yups...we ordered quite a bit between the two of us...but we were hungry!!!  The prices were quite reasonable, but not for the drink...still overpriced like all places in 604!!!
Daisy ordered the Chef's Special combo of Three Sauce Chicken (三杯雞).  This was more like a soy-sauce stewed boneless chicken than a 3-cup chicken.  Very little basil (so no basil flavor), very salty, and way too much ginger and garlic.  Though it tasted not bad, but as what it claimed to be, it was a miss.
I went with a Chef's Special combo of Hakka Style Pork and Squid with Satay Sauce (客家小炒).  This was quite nice!  Lots of shredded pork, lots of squid, and lots of Chinese celery.  But I wished it had a little more spicy and a little more sa-cha (沙茶).
The Fried Rice Noodle with Meat Sauce (台式炒米粉) was a miss.  Too soggy, too much onions, too little meat sauce, and the vermicelli was a bit too tough to chew.
Daisy and I really enjoyed the Pan Fried Egg Roll with Corn (玉米蛋餅).  Thick egg, thin wrap, and a good amount of corn niblets...yummy!
Since Daisy's not feeling too well, I thought I would be nice and not order any deep-fried items to tempt her.  So I went with the Marinated Fish Cake (滷甜不辣).  This was nothing special...just soy-marinated.  Sorry about the picture quality, I was trying out MukMuk-D's camera.  He claimed it's a pro camera for dummies, but it was still too advance for me...hahahaha...Buddha Girl no smart!
While Daisy only wanted hot water, I ordered a Hot Golden Mandarin Green Tea (熱金桔绿茶).
The Chef Special combos each came with a gigantic bowl of white rice and two side dishes.  I find Richmond Bubble World slightly better than the one on Kingsway in Burnaby.  Though the service was slow, but it was pleasant.  It's spacious and well-lit.  Plus, there's a lot of free parking!!!
