Another lunch out with colleagues. Honestly, I really didn't care where we go, but less than 50% on Urbanspoon? C'mon...there's gotta be better places...
Back when I first visited Black + Blue (see post 2012-01-25 Dinner @ Black + Blue), I loved the Crispy Calamari. This time, the breading wasn't as crisp and retained a bit too much oil.
I was really disappointed with my Blue Ribbon Meat Loaf. First off, the portion was small, too small. Next, not only it looked like a hamburger patty, it also tasted like a hamburger patty. I think I'd be better off ordering a burger. Do not waste your money on this.

MetroBoy was disappointed with his Beef Wellington. Yup, another small dish. Serving rare would have been fine, but MetroBoy had to send the tenderloin back for some more heat as it arrived blue. The sauce was salty. Again, not recommended.

can't agree with you more.
ReplyDeleteWent for dinner with a group of 10.
Many of us ordered their Prime Rib DInner deal....
ranging from rare to well. A steakhouse should be able to do this...or just say so, as sometimes it is difficult with Prime Rib.
They couldn't get it right...nor did could they care less that they didn't.
So over rated in my opinion. What gives....why would people pay that kind of money for pretty mediocre food...and extremely poor service.
Granted, we were not the most young and "beautiful" clientele....but our money was seemingly as attractive as their more "desired" guests.
Never going back and will never recommend this place. So disappointed. At least there are several other steak houses that will happily take our money and treat us well.
I'm not a fan of the Glowbal group, although I've only been to the ones on Alberni Street. Food is overpriced and service is a hit and miss.
ReplyDeleteI do like the Keg around the corner, it's much more casual and friendly.
It's unfortunate that you had a bad experience, I actually like the Milestones on Robson for larger groups.
